On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th June respectively the Justice Committee and the Prisoner Ombudsman met with a delegation of republican POWs. The first meeting to take place involved Raymond McCartney, Carál Ní Chuilín ,John O'Dowd, Conall McDevitt and Alban Maginness and lasted around 15 mins. Once again the POWs covered all the issues of concern as they had done previously with the Sinn Féin delegation. Basically, the POWs did all the talking. Conall McDevitt did ask a question concerning what the POWs thought of the Prisoner Ombudsman's report. He was told that her remit was too narrow and that it (the report) didn't deal with the core issues. They informed the POWs that they would be back in 2 weeks time. The same view was expressed to the Prisoner Ombudsman.
