On a bright sunny day on Sunday 11th April hundreds of republicans made their way to Maghaberry prison to show their support for republican pow's. Families, friends and ex prisoners arrived at the jail and assembled in the visitor's car park under the watchful eye of the paramilitary force the PSNI. The paramilitary force had set up checkpoints on all the roads leading to the jail and proceeded to stop and search republicans as they arrived. Those assembled then proceeded behind the leading banner which read " SUPPORT REPUBLICAN POWs RESTORE POLITICAL STATUS ".
